      Well what is your price range? How far will you be shooting, distance wise? Being a .22, probably no further than a max range of 150 yards or less, much less. 3-9 will be fine for that. I like the more zoom I can get to allow a better opportunity to aim small and miss small - sig Go Leapers, Bushnell, Nikon, Vortex, Millet, Super Sniper, Hawke, etc. Do not go BSA, Barska, Simmons, etc even though the prices may seem appealing After all it is only a .22lr

        Thanks fro the input ::

        For price , I'd like to stay under $ 70.00

        The distance will be 100 yards or Less

        The rifle is an 'ol Marlin model 880 bolt action / Micro grove barrel
        I've had it since it was Brand new out of the box

        Nice accurate little .22 / It's ended the days of Many a lizard on the rocks

          I've had a Simmons 6-24 on a Mossberg 42A for over 20 years. I used to shoot silloutte with it and it worked fine. I have a few other Simmons scopes on .22s and I've never had a problem with any of them. That said, if you're not in a hurry, keep watching midway for clearance optics. I've picked up a couple +$150 scopes for under $35 in the last couple years. I would never put a Leapers on any gun although, it seems to be CH555's first choice. Also, I would never put a NC Star on anything other than an airsoft plinker!

                Check pyramydair.com for some cheap, leapers scopes. They work great on .22's. The people are right, a simmons would work but I have had 2 bad experiences with cheap ones, and under $70 will get you a cheap one.

                      I use something with hash marks. I got a 14x but I'm looking for a 24x or 25x but I'm looking for much more acuracy then most 22 off the shelf so I need it.

                          Buy Redfield. I read an article recently, Redfield was bought by Leupold. Redfield was bought so Leupold so they could offer low cost quality scopes.

                          The Redfield Gun Sight Company was founded in 1909 by John Hill Redfield. The company's product line expanded from open sights to include riflescopes, mounts, binoculars, and spotting scopes. In 1998 Redfield closed its doors in Denver, Colorado, marking the end of an era.

They won't tell you if something is out of stock though until the day after, or so, you place your order. Thats is, IF it is out of stock
