    Tru Glo Red Dot question

Picked up my Sig522 on Monday and put a TruGlo red dot on it. Took it to the range and found that I was seeing 2 dots in the reticle. They were close but were still 2 distinct dots. Took it back to the store and exchanged for the TruGlo Red/Green dot. Took it to the range today and found this one has the 2 dots as well. Is this normal? I have not used a red dot before so I am not sure what I should be expecting. I appreciate any feedback on these red dots.

It's not like a conventional scope so stop pulling your eye up to the sight. Look into it with both eyes open and your cheek on/right above the stock.

I have a few of the Tasco red dots, BKRD20 & BKRD2022 on my 22's. Neither of those give me two red dots regardless of having one or two eyes open or if my eyes are close or far away. The BKRD20 is about $35 or so at Walmart, I got the BKRD2022 on eBay. I have been real happy with both so far. The BKRD20 is used with a normal Picatinny rail, the BKRD2022 is used with the 3/8" 22 dovetail.

Its possible that the intensity is set too high, but that's just a guess. I have two BSA red dots and have never seen this "two dot" thingy. Suggest you consider taking it back and getting another brand.

I returned it again and and all seems good now. Made 3 trips to the range this weekend and ran about 1300 rounds through it. I anticipated this would be a fun gun but it has wildly exceeded my expectations.

          Thanks for all your responses.

I have many red dots, most over $100 and at least 3-4 over $250. Without regard to cost, many of these do show 2 dots, especially the 3-4 MOA versions. For very quick site picture and general work this is no problem. If you're trying to do very fine target work, it is still OK, but sometimes bathersome.
