Those are bolt actions, right? Not much to do other than pull the stock off and remove the bolt. Alot of .22 like that you hold the trigger back to remove the bolt.

That is pretty much it for that old gun. They can be great shooters, I love mine.

Yeah it's a pretty old bolt action. I'm fairly new to tearing them down. I found a forum with mossberg section. They've been helpful. Can't wait to get it cleaned up and firing.

You might go to Rimfire Central. They have a fairly active Mossberg forum. Some of the members there, are quite familiar with Mossys.

You could also email Vic at Havlin Sales.com. He sells parts for old Mossy 22s and he used to work in the Mossberg factory on the 22 assembly line.

Remove the Tube, Remove the bolt, Unscrew the plastic trigger guard, and remove the screws holding the stock to the barreled action. It should lift right out.

Dust and wipe it down with whatever oi you like, oiling any parts that will see movement, including the rear peep sight (if you have one)

This will tell you how to do everything necessary. Please do not alter or modify the rifle in the future, lots of people love these old mossbergs and they are quality shooters.

Thanks Chill. I saw the 2 screws underneath but was hesitant about attempting to disassemble without knowing what to expect. I didn't want to see a bunch of springs and pins fly out without being ready. It looks pretty basic. It doesn't have a rear peep sight. The only mod I would consider is a scope mount that I saw online.

The OM22 Rear Peep sight and the M22 Scope Mount are both very nice. I had the scope mount on my M44US a while back and it worked out great. I highly recommend Havlin Sales- They know what they are doing.
