    10/22 Iron Sights

I need a new pair a sights for my 10/22. Hopefully something that has a M1A style sight, but I need to be able to mount a scope.... And it has to go on a stock 10/22 barrel...

These are all the rage for the Appleseed Shoot guys. Can't mount a scope with them on, but they come off easy enough for you to then mount a rail in their place for a scope.

I put the Tech Sights TSR200's on my new 10/22, along with one of those M1 Carbine stocks for a 10/22. Stiff crosswind at the range so I set up a sheet of A-17's at 50 feet and it shot very well for the conditions - 1/4" to 3/8" groups (center-center). So that would translate to 3/4" to 1 1/8" groups at 50 yards.

And I'm shooting with 47 year old eyeballs with a major correction for nearsightedness. I was very pleased.

I have the tech sights too. Well worth the price.

I don't think your going to be able to have it both ways. Tech sites or a scope.

Agreed on the tech-sights. I have the TSR200's on my new 10/22 as well.

The tech-sights are very nice. I highly recommend them. They have a new set of aperture inserts that are pretty sweet too.

Speaking of new sights... I had a heck of a time removing the old ones. Still cant get the front one off. Any helpful hints?

That is an eagle manufacturing magazine, and its 10 rounds so its good to go.
They usually come in 2 packs and are very affordable.

What if you were to get a scope base, say an EGW, and chop it in half, and mount the front half to the rifle, there are two mounting screws there in the front to use so it won't twist side to side, and then get a small scope with a single quick detach mount. You'd be able to mount an Aimpoint with no problem, and depending on how much of the rail you leave you might be even able to mount something a bit larger like a magnified optic with a longer eye relief.

Its a bit red neck gunsmithing, but it would allow you to use the Tech Sites as well as have a scope mounting option.

My front drifted out with a couple wacks with a good sized hammer and a steel punch. Haven't tried to remove the rear.

Call me crazy if you want but I bought the Hiviz sights for mine and love them. And you can still mount your scope.

What did you use to hold the rifle in place?
