Trouble with a 10/22 mag

I'm just back from the range, my 10/22 mag doesnt advance the last 2rounds.
Is this a common problem and can it be fixed? These mags are at least 20 years old.
Should I replace them if so what is the going rate for new mags?

If your using the factory rotary mags, they can be dissasembled and cleaned. They do crud up after a while.

Could be a worn spring... you can buy a replacement spring for $12, or get a new factory mag for $20. But definitely try cleaning it first.

New factory ruger 10/22 mags are 14.99 at midway plus shipping of course but if you need stuff its worth it and you should beable to get them at around that price from your local dealer.

I had the same problem once. I just gave them a rinse in Ed's Red, minus the red (equal parts acetone, denatured alcohol, mineral spirits), and hit them with a blow drier afterwards.... and they ran great again.
