Ruger 10/22 HM2 or Mach II Conversion anyone?

I'm thinking of doing this conversion. Found a good deal on a nice older 10/22. Has anyone here done this conversion? If so what parts do you recommend? How reliable has it been? Do stock 10/22 magazines work? Thanks for any input. c good

EABCO conversion with a sporter barrel. It is light, accurate and by keeping the barrel and chamber clean, I have not had any issues. Regular Ruger magazines work perfectly. Apparently, the conversion kit has been discontinued, so if you can find one out there for sale (barrel and heavy bolt), pick one up.

I do this conversion all the time. My last one I used a Ruger 77/17 target barrel and man is it a shooter. The mags work but you do have to use a weighted bolt or VCs .17M2 bolt (expensive). I also finished a conversion using the VC Carbon Fiber barrel with forward blow comp. Muy customer called me a couple days ago and said it was a one hole gun for 5 shot groops at 25 yards. He will to a 50 and 100 yard test this weekend.

oh for sure it holds. but wind is a mAjor factor with that bullet being so small and light. with 0 wind i was shooting 1'' groups at 100 yards with my semi-auto! 10/22 17hm2 converted. BUT SERIOUSILY NO WIND AT ALL!

ANY wind past 35 yards changed the trajectory insainly.

but man, it does amazing with 0 wind. 2100 fps makes the bunnys flip in the air

ive done head shots (with a rangefinder) at a100 yards leaning against a post at 100 yards

PM me if you wanna see the pic of the bunny haha

built mine with an Adams and Bennet barrell..Skeeters midweight handle and spring ... Randy at CPC did the bolt...used Volqurartsen trigger parts,,,added a barrel droop V block..also from Skeeter...pushed about 500 hundred or so rounds down range with no problems as of yet...I really like this round....but as mentioned can be fussy in a breeze...

The only problem I have found with mine so far is that you shoot it like the 10/22 that it is, blap, blap, blap and that gets expensive quick. Still cheaper than a full up centerfire cartridge but definitely costs more than .22. Aside from that mine has been very accurate, feeds from stock mags, shoots great. I get tired of shooting little ragged holes in paper at 100 yards so I typically go to shooting all of the spent shotshells that litter the range. Hit shot shells is no challenge at all, the challenge comes in trying to shoot one right in the spent primer, lots of fun and one of my favorite rifles to shoot.

see if you can find a ruger 96/22lr and just swap the barrel to a 17hm2.

i got my barrel directly from green mountain for $65. Its basically a 10/22 lever action and has a steel receiver rather than aluminum. All it takes is a barrel, and I have a different caliber.

That is a good looking rig, looks like it has testicles though.
