Heritage single action .22 wheel guns

Anyone here own one? What's the concensus on these? Thanks

I think the consensus is they work and they aren't bad for the price but a ruger single is better and will almost always have a good resale value.

That said for $179 I'm tempted to get one just for some range fun.

I bought one a while back for a cheap range plinker that I could beat up and not worry about. I have been very impressed with it and I would not give it up for anything. i bought the one with a .22lr and .22mag cylinder. I still have not shot any Magnums out of it but I like to have the choice and I hear it is a lot of fun. The finish is nothing to write home about but that does not bother me in the least. The gun fits in the hands very well and feels more like a .45 that a .22. In my experience it has functioned flawlessly and has never given me any problems. All my buddies beg me to bring it out when I come to the range. I actually shoot better with it than my Ruger Mark III 22/45. The one gripe I had about the gun was when I first got it, it shot about 6'' to the left. I had bought the fixed sight model so my options were limited. i ended up just bending the front sight and now it shoots dead straight. I could not be more happy with the gun especially for the price. If you have any questions let me know and I will try and help you out. Where are you located. If you are close enough I will meet you at the range and let you shoot it.

I always wanted a Single Six as I am a RUGER FANATIC but the money was not right at the time.

I shot my coworker's. Reminded me of the 1895 nagant revolver.

It IS worth buying and a LOT of fun.
If you have the option and desire, get the adj sight model (6.5" bbl )... aside from the obvious advantage, it's nice to adj elevation for shooting 100+ yards and still see a 12" plate ... yes, It'll do it.
Notations after 1 year and 1500 rounds:
There is chatter that the bbl starts to unscrew itself after "a while": I don't know yet but I scribed it's position when new so I could monitor it.
There was chatter about the extractor tube mounting screw backing itself out and thus becoming lost. That is true. Loctite it and scribe the screw slot alignment on the tube and monitor.
After a few hundred rounds of flawless shooting, mine locked up. Upon disassembly, I found the hand spring broken (no warning). Parts are cheap and easy to get from the mfg. (Though probably covered under warranty, I just bought a new spring.) No prob since.
I only used the mag cyl once, may not be worth the extra price.
              Cheers!

Please explain just how it reminds you of an 1895?

                      armedoffroader,

Mine works well and no hang-ups what so ever. I admit I never used the magnum cylinder though. If it's just for casual shooting or a back-pack arm then it's good/excellent.

I have the adjustable sights with fiber optic. FO went flying in the range one session and Heritage sent me 2 new ones. I tried to sold it once and I'm glad it didn't work out. Like they said, cheap and fun.

Thanks. Are yiu aware that many, many single action revovlers have similar loading gates? I just found it a bit strange for you to have singled out the 1895 since, the 1895 is unique in the way the cylinder advances into the forcing cone.
