    Frankenstein Ruger 10/22 possible?

Is it possible to buy just the guts (trigger assembly, receiver, bolt, etc...) for the ruger 10/22? Seems it would be the cheaper route and I won't have leftover parts when I get a new barrel and stock.

From what you posted it looks like you'll use everything except the barrel and stock.

There are a couple places that sell the recievers individually http://www.heddonpal.com/list.asp?d=8&p=1 but they runs about $95.00. After shipping and DROS and adding in a bolt and trigger assembly you into it for about $200 which is not much cheaper than buying a complete rifle. If you stated with a good trigger group, say a KIDD or STI, which cost more than a stock 10/22 then it would be a wash buying just what you need.

Thanks for the link TMC. Just what I was looking for. I'll probably just haggle the price down to $240 for a new Ruger 10/22 and do all the mods later. Stretching out the purchases hurts my wallet less and the lady won't notice a couple purchases over a year as opposed to one big "get it all" purchase.

I know what you mean. I won an STI trigger group a few years ago. It retailed for $350.00 so with that as a starting point I bought a reciever and the other part separately and that save me a few bucks. Its funnty having a trigger group that cost more than an entire 22 rifle .

Just buy a Marlin 795, you won't need to buy a Ruger 1022 because the Marlin will outshoot the 1022 all day long

Also very pimpable...mroe stuff for the 795 than the Remington 597

Also way less expensive...$129 at Academy Sports...etc...MINUS the $25 rebate from Marlin
