    Hi-Standard Model A

I have recently come into a Hi-Standard model "A" .22 semi automatic pistol. Does anyone have any info about this gun and what it's worth? There isn't much to be found in google searches.

Try http://www.histandard.info/, not the greatest website but I got some good info for a Hartford Arms 22 from him.

When I first got into Bullseye, this was the gun to go to. I later went through a Citation and Trophy before going onto European target pistols like Hammerli and FAS. By then, Mitchell Arms had taken over Hi-Standard, so I lost track of those type of guns.

Gun Broker and Guns America may have similar models for sale -- and it may give you a ballpark idea of what the gun is selling for.

I found a lot of stuff on Hi-Standard's other models (a google search for "Model A" brings back a lot of results for "Model B") but nothing good on the Model A. I personally don't have a gun values blue book, but some insight onto the value, and even history behind this gun would be interesting if anyone had some.

Have you tried posting your question on TargetTalk? Lots of Bullseye competitors chat in there. One of the more seasoned shooters may have the answer for you and/or gunsmiths.

John worked at High Standard for years, there isn't anyone that knows more about them. Give him the serial number and he may be able to tell you when and where it was shipped to.
BTW......only shoot Standard Velocity ammo in it, High Velocity will damage the gun.

Had to embolden that statement...truer words were never spoken.

                High & Hyper-velo will jack-up a pre-1968 gun faster than anything.
