Opinion on a Taurus 94 4" 9shot

I don't own one but over on Rimfire Central, the general consensus seems to be that it's a good little gun when it works. The quality seems to be hit or miss and several have had to return them to Taurus for rework but after that, they work fine. Others have gotten ones that work right out of the box. Since your friend has put up to 2k rounds thru it, it sounds like he might have gotten one that works. See if your friend will go to the range with you and try it out. Run a few boxes of ammo thru it to see how reliable it is.

Is it stainless or blued? Considering the 94 is not on the DOJ list of approved guns for sale in California and PPT is the only way to get one here, I would buy it for $250.

Didn't even think of the damn DOJ list, I guess that is why I haven't seen one in any gun shops.
It's blued and looks as though it has been very well cared for, I'll ask him if I can take it to the range.
He said I've shot it before but I don't remember.

Another gun gets melted down because of misinformation

My friend did not wait for me to get back to him about buying his Taurus, he took to a Gun Shop along with some other Guns he had.
The guy told him it was on the BAN list and that he could not buy it from him or put it on consignment.
So he ended up taking it to OC Sheriff's Dept and told them it was on the BAN list and turned it in yesterday.

We're not speaking now after my comment about his lack of intelligence

I don't know which Gun Shop it was I'm not real good with Orange County, Plus we're not talking right now.
I'll call him in a week or two, hell I've known the guy 15 years.

I left him a voice message but he's not returning my call, I'm going to go to the Crossroads Gun Show in Costa Mesa on the 28th and try my luck finding a 94 from a private party.
