    Remington 597 trigger

My son was out shooting his 597 today, and the trigger stopped working. Taking it apart, a pin had shifted in the trigger mechanism, and the sear spring had come out of place.

Is this a typical failure? Any aftermarket fixes?

    Thanx.

PS, I hate plastic gun parts....

I found a great resource at rimfirecentral.com....an active community and lots of very specific 597 info (and every other rimfire gun), including my trigger issue...

Oh yeah - there is an aftermarket trigger housing made of CNC'd aluminum, but its $250 (with guts), made by Jard.

...now I'm thinking about making my own trigger housing from aluminum parts brazed together....and install the OEM hammer and sear etc....

...anybody heard of any 597 trigger housing plans??
