    Just got my 15-22 back...

Just got my 15-22 back from S&W (fixed FTE problem...). I took it to the local gun range and it shot great.

I ran Federal Bulk, Winchester 333 HP, Fiocchi 22lr with NO PROBLEMS...
Maybe ran 200+ rounds and not one single problem.

Here's a picture of 4 inch targets at 25 yard.

(I shot high because I did not want to zero at 25 yard an purposely zeroed high).

Question... has anyone sent their 15-22 in recently and are they still returning the guns with a free extra magazine?

Glad to hear it's fixed! I had to do the same thing and I've had no issues whatsoever since the repair (no visible changes other than getting blue springs.)

I didn't get an 'extra' magazine with mine, they replaced the one I sent with the gun.

Glad they fixed it........question please...do you have to send in the rifle............can S&W just send the new blue springs...........I have 2 15-22's one has blue spring one does not.......I have not had but a few FTE's with the older one (the other is as yet untested) ,
hate to have to send it back if I can just swap out the springs my self ?

you are better off sending the gun to S&W... after you have confirmed there is a problem.

call them and they will send you a Airbill so there is no out of pocket expense.
I don't think they would send just the spring because I have heard they also adjust the extractor position.

I went from 15 FTE on maybe 200+ rounds to zero FTE on 200+ rounds.

I get to pick mine up on the 26th. I really hope I don't have any problems with it. Was there a certain serial number that was having the problems by chance.

Mine started with DTX and as long as your does not i'm pretty sure it wont have a problem. There are some threads detailing the difference.

I am almost certain the one I bought starts with DTX as well. I picked up some Winchester and some American Eagle ammo. Maybe I will get lucky.

I got an extra magazine with mine, since I didn't send in the original with the gun. I went through my local shop-when smith sent the gun back they sent it with an extra 25 round standard capacity, instead of a CA-compliant. Needless to say, the shop corrected this before I got there and informed me after...

Serial prefixes have nothing to do with it as per the S&W board, you really just wanna look for the blue springs and correct extractor position.
Mine is a DTX, and came with blue springs etc etc. No problems with mine. It eats everything.

Mine was a DTX and was utterly useless before I sent it in. Once I got it back (no free mag) it had the blue springs and was perfect.

Tip: When calling into S&W for the Fedex tag, ask for them to e-mail it to you so you don't have to wait for it to arrive via snail mail.

Well I guess I will find out on Tuesday. I get to pick it up Monday but I think I will take it home and clean and oil it before I take it to the range. I am still waiting on two short 10 rounders I ordered from Smith and Wesson directly. Fast shipping isn't really their specialty is it.

I just got back from picking up my 15-22. I took out the bolt and sure enough its got the blue springs. I am assuming the extractor is in the correct position. The magazine also has the blue follower without the helper tabs. I am going to try and get it out to the range tomorrow and see if I have any problems. I will report back later.
