    remington sportmaster 512-x issues

So i got a .22lr for my daughter to gopher hunt with. It is an older bolt action. which is perfect as I want her to learn to shoot with patience, I have to problems with this rifle. First one is when cyling the bolt, if you pull too hard the bolt comes right out the back. It slips back in fairly easy, but I'd like it to be "right".
Second is that the rear sight is missing. Anyone know where I can locate one. Thanks for any and all replies. Thanks Jeff

For the bolt issue usally it is a stop that is linked to teh trigger. Give the trigger area a good cleaning and make sure the bolt stop moves up like it is supposed to. Take the action out of teh stock so that you can get everything clean. As for sourcing a site I would check Numrich gun parts or brownells. I would try numrich first as they have alot of obsolete parts for rifles and handguns.

Numrich does have parts for that family of rifles. I've looked to them for my 513T which is more or less the same rifle, different feed. They should also have schematics you can download to compare against your rifle so you can see if you have anything missing or damaged in the trigger group that's causing it not to stop the bolt.
