    1932 Winchester 60A

Hello, I've got this .22 bolt gun that i've been messing with. I wanted a bolt .22LR to take to Appleseed but wanted it on the cheap, so before I knew much about guns, i made the mistake (i think) of buying this at a local overpriced gun shop for $180 plus fees. It was in a sad state (visually since i don't know much about visually judging a gun's condition. It had rust, etc. the stock was all messed up and i did a bit of research online and the gun didn't seem to be worth much as a "classic" so i figured i'd play with it a bit. The sights were incomplete so i milled some dovetail mounts for a scope. I painted the barrel black and the stock got grey primer then OD green. Figured i could do a little better so i plugged the barrel and sandblasted all the paint and rust off and "blued" it using some cheap stuff i found at walmart, and painted the stock using textured truckbed liner spray from autozone.

Here's the end result. Comments, complaints?

The walmart BwooDcasey bluing can look good if you prep the metal right

I use graduated grits of oiled sand paper, from 220 to 600, put a nice polish on it, degrease well before bluing, turns out pretty nice.

You can refinish that stock with tru-oil, for a nice classic finish.

I'd like to see a close-up of your milled scope mounts.

Sorry, i think i miss-typed, the scope mounts are cheapy ones. i just milled dovetail slots into the top of the receiver/barrel to attach them to. I just sandblasted the barrel and that blue gave it a grey apperance that i thought looked pretty cool.
