I have my 1890 22 WRF up for sale. The gun is very clean so I put a price of $1200 on it. Do you think this is to much? Let me know.

I have found the best way for me to judge pricing is to use Gun broker , if you sign in and use the smart search you can select completed auctions and see how much items have actually sold for .

It looks to me like the metal has been refinished if this is so then yes that price is high, if it is in fact origninal then it may sell for that? It's one down fall is caliber 22 WRF is a little hard to find sometimes?

Please explain how you can tell from the picture posted in this thread. I wish it was that easy for me to see a reblue job. I saw the other pics in the FS thread (it appears to have been deleted) and, in the close ups, I saw crisp stampings instead of the rounded over edges that you tend to see on reblued guns. I am far from an expert and would really like to understand the signs of a gun being refinished better than I do.

I believe this gun was owned by a gun shop owner in SF that has since past away. His shop was there in th 50's.

I'll have it looked over by Jack Huntington (gun smith) today. Find out if it was reblued or not

Well, this gun was reblued but it ia all original and is in great shape. I guess that's good and bad news

Please explain the differences. I have seen some NIB '06s and 1890's on display to promote upcoming auctions. So, it's not like I have not seen "brand new" ones before. I'm interested to know how you can tell by just looking at the picture.
