    Another marlin 795..

i got it on the 3rd of june and just got to fire it today..Finally! i took my '36 mauser 30-06 sporter and the 795 and my dad had his 12 ga. and his mosin-nagant 91-30.. of all of them the 795 was AWESOME! so easy to shoot very very accurate. i put about 240 rounds through it and my fingers are rediculously sore from those magazines but i tried iron sights but ended up liking the bushnell 4x32 much better as im a big guy and the iron sights are super low.. i had about three i guess it would be called jams (the spent shell didnt eject and got stuck in the gate, literally it smashed it in there).... at about 70-80 yard i had about a 2 inch spread (im not a super good shot but ok) without the scope.. well lets not talk about that... i'll be picking up more mag's down the line and more then likely a bipod the usual i guess.. one complaint though is the trigger pull just the tension i have no ghosting or double action feel its just real tough. so ive glanced through the article about the trigger mods and wanna know can i do just the polishing part with results or do i need to do all the drilling and tapping as well?

Great shooter isn't it. I tried mine yesterday for the first time. No jams, didn't load a few times but I think after the break in they will work fine.

My trigger felt great though. Did you take it down and clean it before you shot it the first time? I found a lot of gritty stuff in the action, trigger and the slide from the factory.

lube the )(*&^(& out of her, and fire like a 500 round brick, then clean the *(&^(*&^ atta her, sometimes the main spring needs to be broken in, and you need to shave and polish the inside of the gun the old fashioned way!

i got mine used and well lubricated, shot about 500 rounds through her and had maybe one jam or missfire, I cant even remember
