Quick Release V Block for 1022

Anyone make that V block for quick release. If this product exist, the 1022 barrel can be dissamble in seconds and great for back packing.

The barrel, with only two bolts holding it in is pretty quick to change now. Just what barrel would you change too. Can't go from 17HMR to 22LR due to action length. The area of the barrel attachment V is of some concern due to barrel droop already. Any quick barrel mount would be expensive and iffy and add size to the area so it might not fit a normal stock and as actions are pretty cheap just get another action/barrel and drop it in your stock. I don't see an advantage. Just headaches. They make takedown levers and semis already that are good to go, no stock removal to get at the quick takedown device on these. Once you get the lever broke down it is in two almost equal parts, the 10/22 out of the stock and broken down is three pieces and not that much shorter about 13" just the rear of the stock is all that is saved.

I was thinking about breaking it down for back pack camping. 16" barrel with modified tapco stock.

You only gain the length of the action. Not worth it is why the aftermarket folks don't do it. Taking the action out of a stock is not like breaking it in half just not enough gain.

I was thinking using the tapco 6 position plus 16" barrel. That will break down to around 16-17" total length......

Back in the day, Ram Line made a compact take down stock with a quick barrel release.
The release mechanism was bulky so it needed their special stock to fit inside when assembled.
I just checked their website, I don't see a listing for it anymore.
Perhaps you can find one on Gunbroker or maybe some CalGunner has one.

While I do love the 10/22, perhaps for your backpack needs the AR-7, which comes apart and all pieces fit inside the stock, is your best option.
