    Dry Fire Sig Mosquito

I purchased a Sig Sauer Mosquito the other day and finally was able to pick it up yesterday. This is my first rimfire handgun and I have read that it is extremely bad to dry fire a rimfire firearm as it can damage the chamber. When I inspected my mosquito, I noticed that the chamber was fine but there was an indentation above the chamber on the breech face maybe 5 millimeters above the chamber. Its not too deep but it looks like it has been impacted by something in the past. Its about 4 millimeters long and 1 millimeter wide. Is this normal or is this a sign that gun may have been dry fired in the store before I picked it up? Thanks.

yea i think it is caused by dry firing. my mosquito has the same thing you describe. thats a mark where the firing pin hits the chamber. doesnt seem to affect the functioning of mine though.

Mine has had it from day one. I bought it new and have NEVER dry fired it without a snapcap. I believe they all have that mark. Mine functions flawlessly.

I just checked mine. I have never dry-fired mine, since the manual advises against it. My Mosquito also has the the mark.
