Pulled the trigger on a new ruger MKIII

Well I finally broke down and bought a new Ruger MKIII pistol, the Bull barrel target model in blued. I also picked up some Hogue grips to slap on it once it's out of gun jail. I've also got an aimpoint micro that's just begging to be used for something.

I've decided to remove the LCI before I take it to the range just because I don't want to deal with the possible feeding issues. Also I've heard about feeding issued with some magazines but cannot seem to find any links to an actual fix for this.

Where do people here stand on using cci mini-mags or blazer's for the break in instead of normal velocity ammo?

Congrats on your soon to be favorite pistol. There is a gent on Rimfire Central that has LCI filler plates for sale, great fit, nice person to deal with too.
Feeding issues are a no problem IF you use the correct ammo, I'm currently using Federal Auto Match with great success, I have used Wolf Match Target, CCI Blazer, Federal 510 with about the same succes, the Wolf was more consistent, all had a few stovepipe, feed, or FTF issues.
I like Volquartsen parts, trigger kits and grips especially, shoot it a bit to see what needs to be improved.

Ok, I have to say it again; buy the "Ultimate Cliploader" from McFadden Machine. It will save your thumb when reloading the mags and it's only about $20. Here is the link.

I'll probably get one when I do any upgrades. So, anyone used an aimpoint micro on a MKIII or other .22 pistol?

I'm just asking as I know .22s tend to eat centerfire scopes and I don't want to trash my aimpoint.

I think it's the other way around as to scopes getting destroyed, springer airguns are worse than either. I had an UltraDot MatchDot (30mm tube) on my 6 7/8" MKIII, it was super accurate but WAAY too top heavy for my tastes, I have it setup for my AR now. One of my friends has a Aimpoint Micro on his Saiga, and it's held up so far, I think you could put pretty much anything on it and you would be GTG.
I may put a Burris Fastfire II on my 5.5" MKIII for Steel Challenge matches.

With all due respect and I'm just curious; why would you wait until you get upgrades to get the loader since it will save your thumb whether you do upgrades or not. Again, not a flame, just wondering.

I love my MKIII very fun to shoot! However when I first got it I had lots of feeding problems. Tried several brands of ammo, had same trouble with all of them. There is a square edge on the feed lips of the mags that I rounded with a file, have not had a problem with any ammo after that. The LCI is still installed on mine have not had any issues have about 1k rounds through it

My MKIII required the 'mag fix' but with that small mod done it will eat any ammo I feed it without issue:

Clean the pistol when you get it home, you don't HAVE to field strip it for the first time but take a toothbrush and clean the chamber face good. Leave the LCI in place. I let the LCI lever push out and then grab it and move it in and out to help smooth it up a little. Then add just a drop of oil and move it in and out again. I've got 3 MarkIIIs and they all function 100% as long as I flick the front of the top round so it's up as far as possible. Keep those two things in mind and you'll be OK. By the way, all mine eat up mini-mags and standard velocity CCI no problem.

Well I've looked at the clip loader and it looks cool and easy to use, but I just don't like the look of it for some reason. Also it's one more thing to bring to the range and it takes up space. I'll probably just get one of those little plastic do-dads that save your thumb when you load the mags.
