    S&W 22A and Hyper-Velocity AMMO

Getting a 22A next Tuesday and was wondering if anyone has used Hyper-Velocity ammo in this pistol or if its a bad idea? If so, what brand? Thanks.

Factory sez do not use. This pistol has a nylon buffer that a hyper velocity will wear out very quickly. They send you two replacements with the original packaging so that should be a clue for you. BTW Ilove mine! The only problem is watch out for unintentional mag release while firing. I filed down the release button and cured that bad habit.

There is nothing to be gained by shooting HV ammo in the 22A. As mentioned it will eat the little plastic buffer. Some 22As broke the frame. I would think it was from a steady diet of HV ammo. My frame broke and was replaced. Mount a scope on the long barrel or a red dot on the short barrel and it will be a favorite. For ammo try SK Pistol Match.

Thanks for both replies, just what I was looking for. Got a holographic site waiting for the pistol to get out of jail next Tuesday. Have a great weekend.
