Getting a 22A next Tuesday and was wondering if anyone has used Hyper-Velocity ammo in this pistol or if its a bad idea? If so, what brand? Thanks.

S&W 22A and Hyper-Velocity AMMO

Factory sez do not use. This pistol has a nylon buffer that a hyper velocity will wear out very quickly. They send you two replacements with the original packaging so that should be a clue for you. BTW Ilove mine! The only problem is watch out for unintentional mag release while firing. I filed down the release button and cured that bad habit. -
There is nothing to be gained by shooting HV ammo in the 22A. As mentioned it will eat the little plastic buffer. Some 22As broke the frame. I would think it was from a steady diet of HV ammo. My frame broke and was replaced. Mount a scope on the long barrel or a red dot on the short barrel and it will be a favorite. For ammo try SK Pistol Match.
