Just picked up the Sig 522 couple of days ago. Man! it is a beautiful rifle. I cant wait for this weekend to try it out. Installed a 4-9 x 30 scope. I read and researched why I should get this one version few other .22LR Tactical Rifle.

I plan to put either cheap red dot and magnifier (3x or so) or a 1-4x scope on it. It doesn't come with iron sights and I don't think I'll bother putting any on--decent iron sights are hard to find since most BUIS are designed for AR-15s and I am told those front sights aren't the right height. I think I'll start a "What optics are on your Sig 522" thread.Benefactor Life Member NRA, Life Member CRPA, CGN Contributor, US Army Veteran, Black Ribbon in Memoriam for the deceased 2nd Amendment

Since I took this photo I have changed the red dot scope mount to one that is taller so the red dot scope is not right on the rail. Do note the 10-30rd mag

Wow, that Sig looks great with the rail. Is that a special edition Sig 522 (as in the swat model) or did you install the rails yourself? If so, was it an easy install?

That is a real SIG rail--I bought it from a member here at a great price--
it was an EASY fit--no hassle. It now has a NEW home on my 556!
The SIG stuff SWAPS back and forth between the 522 and 556(not
the lowers)

Looks sharp as hell. I wish I could have taken advantage of the great Turners deal a while ago, buy a 556 and get the 522 free. I hope that deal returns one of these days.

Sig seems to be constantly out of the 522 mags, but Black Dog always has them. They seem to get here in three or four days after you order them
