They're just more picky about ammo than others. I couldn't fire Stingers either, but Velocitors work though.

Use the light spring, keep it clean and well lubed, and use CCI Minimags or Blazer 22's.

I sent 200 Blazers downrange without any issues last range session.

I also really like Weapon CLP as a lube for the Mosquito.

They don't suck--they are just particular like all prima donnas.They were designed to mimic the heft, frame, and action of a large caliber weapon only in a money-saving caliber--and that means they need very high velocity ammo (i.e. powerful) to work their action. Kinda like this climbing chick I met at Tuolumne Meadows on a climbing trip to the Ritter Range in the early 80's...oh never mind that's..well...So they need TLC...But they mimic a large frame pistol like no Buckmark or other sissy target pistol can...It's well worth the ride if you have the ammo...Got it?

You either love 'em or hate 'em. No worries. Just do what feels right. Take it up or leave it. I guarantee you will be happy either way.

Stingers have a longer case than normal 22lr. This can cause several types of jamming in firearms with tight normal length chambers. Some think that Stingers have harder primers that cause more failures to fire. I am not sure. CCI makes several types of rimfire ammo why make one a different hardness and why and where is it needed.
Clean the chamber good and try it with CCI MiniMag ammo or any normal length ammo. Performance should improve.

Try a few different types of ammo. Mine runs 80/100 with federal bulk, 95/100 with Remington Golden Bullets and 100/100 with CCI Minimag.

i just went through two packs of the cci's shown in that picture with the older serial model number mosquito without a hitch. Which spring are you using?

I picked up my Sig Mosquito last Saturday---went straight to the range and shot 500 rounds of CCI mini-mags. The following day--shot another 500 rounds of CCI mini-mags. Only problem came in the first 30 rounds---occassional fail to feed, but it was due to the oil reside that I found on the bullet (probably from the gun). It was suggested that you clean the gun prior to shooting, but I just couldnt wait to go to the range.

From what I've read---the Mosquito are very picky about its ammo. Luckily for me, I bought at least 8,500 rounds of CCI mini-mags at Walmart prior to getting the Sig Mosquito.

Because of this gun..I just love shooting it...allows me to practice without a hefty ammo cost.I am now looking to buy a Sig P 226.

well i just took my sig out and every other shot jammed like crazy, i used CCI stingers. Is it the ammo or mosquito just suck?

You only tried 1 ammo? Well, if that's the case, then try more.
Go to your gun store and buy 1 box of every .22LR they've got. Chances are you'll find a few that works well.... (Although I've heard some bad things about your gun... so maybe it's gun related. But you won't know until you've tried different ammo)

I've found that with the federal match bulk packs (tan box) that they sell at walmart function 100% reliable with my mosquito. They're a lot cheaper than CCI mini mags too. When I first shot my mosquito, I went out and tested it with a bunch of 22 ammo. I found that on top the the two I listed heres how it went:
Velocitors 100% though only shot 50 rounds
Remington subsonics would jam around once per magazine
Aguila hypervelocity jamed about once a mag
Federal bulk packs would jam bout once every other magazine
Golden saber would jam roughly once every 3rd or 4th magazine
Super Colibris wouldn't even function ( I know they don't that was just more for fun)
The winchester 333 packs were the worst as they would jam multiple times per magazine. Though I've fired them through my 10/22 and they were jamming at least once per magzine and thay sucker will eat just about anything reliably.
