Boyds had their Tactical style stocks for the Ruger 10/22, Remington 597, and Savage 93 on sale last week. I decided I needed one for my Savage 9317. These stocks are for the E receiver with Accutrigger, but will work with the old receiver and standard trigger with only slight mod to the barrel channel. These stocks are laminated, but are painted to hide the laminate. Colors are black, olive drab, and tan.
Savage changed the bottom metal/plastic style and size, so I have to wait till mine gets here from Savage to bed my action to the stock.
The stock is a definate improvement over the original Savage stock. Broad front end, flatter on the bottom, for shooting off bags. Two swivels under the forearm, so a bipod can be mounted. Rubber recoil pad for nonslip shouldering.
Here are before and after pics of the gun, as well has the laminate color that is under the paint. If I decide to strip the stock and go with the laminate, I will have one wild colored stock.
Before.

After, with new stock.
