Best Bang for the Bucks (.22LR AMMO)

Anyone recommend what and where to get the most out of the .22LR? I visited Cabela's and they have them for $79 2,100 rounds. Is that a good price?

That same ammo is available at walmart for $19 for 550 rounds. It's not bad, but definitely not the best.

I stopped by our local Sportsmans Warehouse and picked up a box of Blazer 40gr for 19.99 (500 rounds, 10 boxes of 50)

Seemed all the .22lr ammo was 19.99....Remington Cyclone and Thunderbolt 500 packs and the remington game (400 round) as well as the winchester boxes

Walmart here has the federal bulk for 18.74 (550 rounds)

Just purchased @ Walmart, 4 boxes of Winchester 36gr hollow points, 333ea box - 22lr rounds for $11.47 ea box. That's 3.4 cents/round.

best bang for buck is under the 4 cent per shot. so typically if you can get 500 rds for $20 you should be gtg but that really only applies for bulk ammo. if you want the best .22lr... then it might be more the likes of CCI mini-mags, or wolf match, eley match, etc

Buy bulk for basic plinking and shorter range stuff. When shooting for accuracy at 50 yards or over then the CCI comes out...seems to work and is wallet friendly.
