    Power custom hammer/sear

I've pretty much settled on getting this drop-in hammer/sear kit for my 10/22 and I have a few questions since this i my first trigger mod.

There are 3 versions of this kit and I'm wondering what the main differences will be, or more specifically, what is the main benefit of pre-travel adjustment in the second kit, and should I go for the third kit with the over-travel adjustable trigger too? Please share your experiences, if any, with this kit.

    1st kit: Hammer/sear - $67
Browse a HUGE selection of hunting rifles & shotguns, gun parts, gunsmithing tools, reloading equipment, ammo, and more! Brownells: Since 1939

    2d kit: pre-travel adjustable hammer/sear kit - $80
Browse a HUGE selection of hunting rifles & shotguns, gun parts, gunsmithing tools, reloading equipment, ammo, and more! Brownells: Since 1939

    3d kit: everything above + over-travel adjustable trigger - $118
Browse a HUGE selection of hunting rifles & shotguns, gun parts, gunsmithing tools, reloading equipment, ammo, and more! Brownells: Since 1939

Related question: a lot of people have said they needed to stone the sear to fit the safety. I have one of the brand new 10/22 with the polymer trigger group, does anyone know if this modification still needs to be made?

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but have you looked at the Volquartsen parts? They seem to be the big dog when it comes to 10/22 actions/parts.

I don't have any experience with the Power Custom parts, but I did not have to do any filing or stoning with the Volquartsen parts that I used.

Again, I apologize if you already considered Volquartsen and decided on Power Custom, but I wanted to share what I could to help you out.

1st Kit: Drop in, no filing or fitting needed. Nice 3-ish pound pull, with maybe 1/4" take up and 1/8" over travel.
It's a big improvement over the stock trigger, but the nice trigger break means the take up and over travel is noticeable.
2nd and 3rd Kits: addresses the above travel issues, haven't used them.
It's not hard to add an over travel screw to your current trigger / guard.

The "Volkswagen" $240 trigger assembly leaves little to be desired. Crisp short 2+ lb pull. I haven't tried their kit parts.

I was impressed with the Kidd drop-in unit. Easy to install, no fooling around.

The current production 10/22s have awful triggers.
