I have a 1416D in .22LR that is experiencing ejection issues. Nine times out of ten, the spent brass is ejected smartly from the action about a foot away. It's the one out of ten times that the spent brass decides to stay in the action. It does not hit my scope and bounce back into the action. Rather, I see the extractor grab a hold of the brass until the end of pull of the bolt. At this point, the brass hits the bolt face and weakly falls back into the action. I try to work the bolt smartly, quickly, and with a sharp snap of my wrist but the issue still occurs. This is particularily frustrating during timed matches, as I have failed to get off a few shots because I was busy fishing the brass out. It also screws up my follow-up shot because I would often have to take my eye and cheek off the rifle to remove the brass that has managed to jam itself sideways in the action near the bolt-face.
Has anyone any luck in fixing this?
I also heard that a guy can fix this issue. Anyone have his contact information?
Thanks.
