I've never fired one but I've heard good things about them. If you like nutnfancy, he has a pretty thorough review of the gun and thinks it is great.

Good choice - I really like mine. We have a lot of them in stock. Come by and check it out if you haven't already.Comment

Saw your special and i just drooled. My DROS still good until next week. Perhaps i come by tomorrow to pick one up.
The only problem with M&P is that the barrel is not threaded. Not it is needed especially for the .22Last edited by Lex; 05-10-2010, 5:52 PM.Comment

I am thinking about my kids and the stock might be too long. They are 7-8 years old. M&P does have better collapse stock and shorter in total length (stock wise)Comment

I took my new one to the range last Friday, I had an assortment of ammution, I fired around 250 rounds through it. I did have three Eley Sport rounds with firing pin strikes but no ignition, can't blame the rifle for that, all the other brands worked flawlessly.
I'm curious, how many of you have flash supressors that are welded on?
My only complaint are the silly ten round mags, can't keep them full
JimThe large print giveth, the small print taketh away.

I think the CA ones come soldered and or pinned on.
I love my 522. I just took off my red dot scope and put on a Burris P.E.P.R mount and put my old 3-9 Bushnell scope on the sig. I'm using the Sig red dot on my soon to get SR-22.
The only reason I want a SR-22 is so I can use my old mid 90's 25 round Butler Creek mags. It's irritating shooting my Sig because just as I get into a groove and start having fun, I think oh it jammed. Nope out of ammo.Sent from Cyber Space, using the Force!Comment

I own one myself and am pretty happy with it. Here are my quick pro's and cons for the Sig 522.
Pros:
1. Uses BDM mags, no proprietary mags.
2. Easy take down, similar to AR, no tools needed.
3. Not too picky on the ammo.
4. Solid quality build.
5. Get a rifle case with the rifle from Sig.
Cons:
1. No factory sights - Iron sights from Sig are pricey, need an adapter to use your AR style front sites.
2. Cost - For the price of the Sig 522, you can probably get a dedicated AR upper in .22 if you already have an AR.
I got a Primary Arms 1 x 4 scope to go along with my 522. Not even going to bother with iron sights.sigpicComment
