    American Tactical 22lr upper

Anyone play with this upper yet? Can I pull the front sight/delta-ring and install a rail system on it?

Just wondering since they seem to be cheap to have.

Saw them at turners westcovina. I was some what dissapointed. The receiver is plastic (polymer if it sounds better), the whole thing might be plastic IIRC. Kinda felt like an airsoft toy. But is like 350 so its cheaper than a TacSol unit.

Why disappointed? Its supposed to be a low cost upper not directly competing with the tac sol. Polymer is not bad, the mp15 22 and glocks are polymer. People have put them in metal uppers.

The barrels are metal along with the front sight. I plan on getting one next paycheck.

Oh and to the op the front sight is held on with a set screw. Search lower and find the arfcom thread where the guy took one completely apart. You should be able too

You are right, its not bad (own a glock), maybe im just used to the feel of a real upper. Ive had good luck with my CMMG conversion kit out to 75yds.

We have a unit in store. They aren't bad for the money. Definitely not mil-spec components. Looks like the FSB, flash-hider, etc are replicas of the original, not compatible with real AR parts.

However, you really can't beat the price for a dedicated .22lr upper!
