        This may sound totally stupid.

I sight in my gus for the distance that I will be shooting them at.

Caliber and type of sights really don't make any difference. If I am going to shoot at 10 meters, my sights get zeroed at 10 meters. If I am going to shoot at 1000 yards, I simply zero my sights at 1000 yards. It only takes one shot to get a decent zero at any given distance. I normally take a second shot to fine tune and a third for confirmation.

I agree with what he said. I sight it at the range that I will be shooting. But then I shot at 50 then 100 to verify windage. At ever 400 yards the wind can make it do some weird things.

I sight in at 50 yards but also know my hold offs at various yardages.

At the moment, I have my flip ups sighted in at 25 yards. My red dot is sighted in at 25 yards, as well.

I'm going to use the 2moa red dot with a 5x magnifier at 50 yards, this coming Saturday. I think it will be a 1" hold under what I am using now at 25 yards. I'll see how it goes and reevaluate the setting.
