I have a CZ Varmint in .17 HMR. It uses the same magazines as the 22 mag, and I think it's basically the same gun in a different chambering.
The first time I shot it to sight in, I ended up with a 5 shot group that fit under a dime at 100 yards.
It's so accurate, I won't take it out of the stock.
Good luck and safe shooting.Winchester Canyon Gun Club -- Life Member

I would be happy with a .22 mag that could shoot 3/4" at 100 yardsProtect public lands access http://www.backcountryhunters.org/Comment

definetely hunting out to 125 yards but want real accurate, I have heard the Magnum research is real accurate as well, I fondled the .22 MR with hogue over mold stock it is very very nice. So right now I can't decide between the MR or the CZ I think the CZ being a bolt gun is about half the price and probably weighs the same. Big 5 has the Savage Stainless steel Varmint w/ accutrigger and a simmons scope for $369.00 wow the accutrigger is nice for sure. haven't heard reports on the Savage though.Originally posted by compulsivegunbuyer22mag is much more iffy than a 17hmr. I've had many, and only kept a couple. Had a Marlin 982vs, that was a tack driver, but only with 2 kinds of ammo. CZ 452 american, my go to 22 mag now, and a tack driver, but again, only with a couple kinds of ammo. Hornady V-Max and CCI TNT Green, dime size groups. Winchester Super-X- 6" groups with 8" fliers. CCI Maxi-Mag, 4" groups. I find 22 Mag to be the most ammo senitive of all the calibers I've used. But, it's great at 125 yards or less on small game, and the TNT Green knocks the snot out of jack rabbits. If you hunt small game at short to medium ranges, get a 22mag. But, if you want it as a bench gun, go with the 17hmr. You will be much happier in the long run.Protect public lands access http://www.backcountryhunters.org/Comment

I agree, this is what I am reading, just because you get a crazy bad group doesn't mean it's a crappy gun.Originally posted by compulsivegunbuyer...Again, 22mag is the most ammo sensitive caliber I have ever used.Protect public lands access http://www.backcountryhunters.org/Comment

I also have a 10/22 mag with a Volquartsen fluted barrel. It likes Remington ammo.
Not quite as accurate as the CZ, but yes, it is nice to be able to shoot more than one round at a time.Winchester Canyon Gun Club -- Life Member
