Debaging pre ban hi cap mags

Would there be any issue with sanding off the Butler creek and patent lettering on Butler creek pre ban 25 rounder 10/22 mags and painting the clear mags black?

1. Possession is not illegal
2. Use is not illegal on a Properly/Legally Configured firearm
3. Magazines are not "Controlled Items" like receivers, firearms, and NFA controlled items

If you want to paint them, then have at it.
