Went 2 pick up my .22lr Marlin Glenfield 20 from my brothers house... This was my first rifle that my father bought in 1986 i think..... is there any way 2 tell what year it was made the serial number is 23707393

Through about 1971, the first two numbers of the serial number correspond to the year. # 70698590 would have been made in 1970. After that, you have to subtract the first two numbers from 2000 to get the year. # 17873845 would have been made in 1983. They have since switched back to the old method. -
