I'm wondering if anybody here tried Aquila ammo, their regular (yellow box) and match pistol/rifle (black box)? How do you like them? How much did you pay?

Anybody like Aquila ammo?

I have used both the yellow box ammo and the black box (both match rifle and match pistol). I am very happy with the black box ammo, but I have noticed that I get three or four misfires with the yellow box stuff. If you load it back up and fire it a second time, it does go off 100% of the time. I have found it to provide acceptable accuracy at 25 yards. The only complaints, other than the misfires, are that (1) I find it's fairly dirty and (2) I can't make the yellow box stuff function my S&W 41 action, even after I reduced the spring rate to 6 lbs. It works fine in my other .22 auto's though. Price I paid isn't relevent since I bought mine through CMP a while ago when it was only $180 per 5,000.
Go ahead and try some in your particular firearm(s) but don't buy too much until you're sure you'll be happy with it.
Hope this helps.Comment

I love Aguilar. I'm having best results with 38 gr. HV HP and 40 gr. HV. They never caused any jamming in my semi Remington 597 and Marlin 60. I could hit .5" at 50 yards with my Marlin 60. I tried at least more than 5 different Remington, Federal, Winchester...etc, but Aguilar shoots best in my guns. I paid about $3/box 7-8 years ago. I then went ahead and bought 10000 of them. Still have a lot to shoot.

I use it exclusively in my target rifle (40gr Match) and it is great. Very rarely do I get a misfire and its very accurate for the price.John P. Hermesmeyer

I use Aguila SuperExtra in an Anschutz 1903 consistently. It stinks, and it's very waxy, but for the price it's also rather accurate. I don't really see a difference between it and wolf match, actually I prefer using aguila because wolf stinks even more and has a greasy lubed case.Comment

my only experience with aguila is with
#1 minishells which work great in my winchester 1200
#2 30 carbine which works in my m1 carbine
#3 aguila colibri which works fine in my pump 22 and is so quiet my daisy red ryder is louder the colibri is very dirty it leaves almost a sand like crud in my gunComment

Their Aquila SSS 60gr round is great plinker round, knocks down cans and bottles instead of passing through. It's the only sub sonic round that will cycle properly in my walther TPH. Some forums say it's great .22 self defense round due to its weight and affinity to tumble.Comment

This is some of the most accurate and reliable ammo I have ever tried in my semiautos. From 10/22s to 1911 and ar conversions, this stuff rocks. Bought a ton on sale at midway last year.
