    A note for those looking for a M&P 15-22

Stopped by Big 5 today and noticed that they still had one marked for $499. The guy behind the counter noticed and remarked that the normal price had gone up to something like $529. This both surprised and dismayed me since I'm still a bit short for getting one myself.

So, here's how this would break down:

    $499 - 20% coupon = $399.20
    $519 - 20% coupon = $415.20

Also, for those waiting for the 15-22 MOE, model 811034, do remember that the only extra you get is the built-in flash suppressor and built-in rear-mounted attachments for a single-point sling. Still do not know really what the price for one is but I priced building a vanilla one out with the same accessories, sans the flash adapter, and it worked out to $178.80 before tax and shipping for the sights, stock, and grip.

So, bottom line, if you see one for $499 at Big 5 you best take it before the price goes up otherwise, you'll be paying an extra to get one. Just wished to share all of this with everyone in case you were looking at getting one soon.

Another note regarding this particular model (811034), unless you can get a vendor to either remove the 25-round magazine completely before shipping or substitute a 10-rounder, this model is technically illegal in CA

Checked and called almost every Big 5 and Turner's within a 15 mile radius of me here in the LA/OC county, and nobody has a 15-22. But when I asked, the price has been raised to $529 I believe. There's a member here selling a brand new one over at the classifieds for $500 otd and is local here in So Cal. I am looking at hopefully getting it next week if my tax return arrives. My family love our 15-22 and fight over it. Hey I will do whatever to get the family involved and happy shooting with me. If it takes two M&P's, then I shall get another one.

I just got one from the Turners in Corona. They were out for a couple of days so I went ahead and paid for it on Monday. I went in on Wednesday and did a DROS on it so I'm good to go in about 8 days.

I don't know if that is too far for you but that worked for me.

DROSed one in Mira Mesa (San Diego) a couple days ago and it was $519 before the coupon. $477 OTD.

Bought one today at the Big 5 in Corona. It had the $499 price marked but at the register it was coming up higher. Got it for the $499 price minus the 20% coupon. Pick it up in 10 days.

I'm seriously considering one of these, but I'm also in no hurry to get one as I can wait. The 811034 model sounds more appealing, assuming the price will be about the same as what the current model is now. And you know with Big 5, they always have 10% or 20% off coupons and the M&P 15-22 is always on sale, so I'm not worrying about missing the current promotion going on right now.

What I'm curious to know is if/when the 811034 model will become readily available in CA so I can look into possibly getting that.

That's really the big question right now especially since it seems to be trickling out elsewhere which you can see here: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=166082773

The big catch is going to be the magazine since everything else, from the extras to the barrel, are all within Kalifornia specifications *gives a big middle finger and FU to Feinstein and crew*. So it's really going to boil down to if the vendors here can order them with 10-rounders or would be able to swap out the 25-round magazines for them.

Tried putting a post down in forum for J and R Sports, located in Livermore, and all I saw was dead silence which does not bode well. Either way, I'm prepared to build up my own if I have to but I'd like to get one with all the goodies fitted like yourself.

Gah!!!!! If it was'nt for the fact that you were a 2 hour drive North of here, or that the transfer fee to have it sent here would kill the savings, I'd jump on this in a heartbeat. Good deal for anyone in your area that's for certain.
