10/22 bipod

Hi all,

Just starting to upgrade my 10/22. Just got the Fajen adjustable stock, and need to know what is bipod would fit on it. And how easy is it to install?

As long as you have a sling stud there in the front, you're good to go. Harris is one of the best out there. It's as easy as turning a thumb screw. Pretty much any brand bipod you can use.

I cant recall if the stock you have has a front sling mount or not... If not I cant help but if there is one then a Harris is the way to go. If you want a similar but cheaper model then head to walmart and get the ones that are in the Winchester packaging, they are a Harris lookalike and they function fairly well. I have a couple of them and have had no problems with them. The only drawback to the cheaper ones is that if you like legs notches these don't have them... other than that they are close and will save you about $25.00 or so over the Harris. The Harris are around $65.00 or so and the ones at wallyworld are $39.99.

Hey slick, nope no front sling. Looks like I'll have to get a adapter with the bipod. I'm just hesitant to drill into the stock, I don't want to mess it up.

I just called Harris Bipod, they told me this adapter would fit. Although, i'm not sure how it will look. Anybody have this adapter for your bipod:

I would say not to put any of those adapters that mount on the barrel...besides messin up the barrel finish, they could mess with the accuracy of the gun... You float a barrel for a reason.
I would very carefully install an uncle mikes sling mount and use the harris or wallyworld one.. Just my 2cents

Thanks Slick! I was about to get that adapter, but you are correct about messing up the finish of my GM barrel, and the accuracy.

Last I checked, Walmart also sells the sling studs as well. That will save you more shipping charges.

Ideally, you should drill the hole with a drill press but if you are careful, you can do it with a center punch (for alignment) and a hand drill.

I just put a Harris Bipod on my new build...in fact that is all I've done so far. It was pretty easy to install mine just involved drilling a 5/32 hole as long as the bolt and screwing in the pin. A very easy install.
