    10/22 Barrel Break In

I have two 10/22 carbines I'd like to take to the range. One is blued that is from the 1980's and hasn't been shot in 10 years easily (and probably has less than 100 rounds through it). The second is brand new and stainless. What needs to be done to break these guns in?

Do what I do. Get a box of bulk junk ammo. Shoot about 150 rounds to build up some fowling in the barrel (season the barrel) then break out the good stuff and have at it. Or just shoot it.
