    Threaded barrel in California

Can I use a 16" Threaded 10/22 Barrel here in California? Any legalities buying one and getting it shipped here?

Go ahead! The only time threaded barrels are an issue is with semi auto handguns with detachable magazines.

Then why did they weld the flash hider on the sig 522. It originally came in with a threaded barrel. I believe its the same with the M&P that will come with a flash hider.

Maybe other states have issues with them but, not California. If you know different, please post PC.

what is "close to illegal" about a threaded barrel that is on any firearm other than a "semi-automatic pistol with a detachable magazine"? A rifle is not a pistol, not even close.

My only rimfire rifle with a threaded barrel has a protector that's loctite'd on, so it can't fall off by mistake, and an over-eager LEO can't just unscrew it with bare hands. This is not a legal question, but one of comfort.
again, what is the issue if the rifle has a threaded barrel? there is no violation of the law for any rifle to have a threaded barrel.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I have called two gun smiths and they wouldnt thread my barrel which is a .556 with bullet button. I just want a muzzle break or a fake can.

maybe they don't want to do it, or don't know if you would be using it in a legal configuration.

just because someone is a gunsmith doesn't mean that they understand how all the rules interact.

I'd suggest sending ar15barrels a PM and see what he can do for you. He's probably not too far away from you.
