I have bought 4 of them, 2 of the first generation square back type...and 2 of the sloped rear type. Now , in the third generation they have removed the picatinny altogether but tapped and flattened the top so a picatinny rail can be mounted but stay solid because the slope of a standard ruger receiver isnt there.
All of them have been machined and anodized very nicely ...and worked flawlessly with both ruger internals as well as custom internals ( KID...Rimfire Technologies...etc )
