Wow! I haven't seen that before. Is that on the DOJ safe list?

That is a very space-age looking gun. I could just imagine holding one and going "pew pew pew"

The threaded barrel is going to be a problem...

I have wanted a Whitney Wolverine since I first saw one in 1968.

Somewhere I have read a review of this reincarnated Wolverine that REALLY panned it: lousy function and worse customer service. Made from completely different materials than the original (which had its problems also). Do some research before buying.

Can't the muzzle brake be welded on? Then it doesn't have a threaded barrel anymore?

                    1. Do you guys think Oly Arms would weld it on for me before shipping it?

                    2. Or, will I have to buy it from gun store and have them weld it before shipping?

                    3. Does anyone know, can you disasemble it for cleaning if the front muzzle is welded on?

                    Any info is greatly appreciated...

Oly Arms is not known for cooperation with California gunnies, nor in my opinion are they known for getting technical gun law details right (esp. after Tom Spithaler fired Corey Sattler). [Go ahead and sue me, Oly.]

This gun has two problems for getting into CA, and both must be addressed.

1.) it's not Rostered as an approved handgun in CA.
2.) it's considered an AW with threaded barrel (if indeed the muzzle device is affixed with threading, which is the likely case)

#2 can be solved by removing threads or welding/pinning on the muzzle device. (DOJ set a precedent on the Walther P22 fiasco by allowing epoxy.) However a "permanently affixed" muzzle device may be unwise as to ease of cleaning/service/repair - so lathing the threads off the bbl may be best.

This de-AWing action on the threaded barrel MUST occur BEFORE the gun enters into CA.

#1 can be a bit harder.

It can acquired thru a CA FFL via lineal intrafamily gift. It can also be inherited/bequested, etc.

LEO purchases are also Roster-exempt; if the LEO tired of the gun after acquisition he could PPT it to a Californian.

The gun could also be rendered into a 12133PC Roster-exempt single-shot pistol if a rampless (preferably) replacement barrel were added to get it to 6" min bbl length/10.5" min overall length, and a dummy 0-shot mag was locked in place. This is a rather tall order for a fairly low-value gun.

                        So...

Does anyone know if the gun can be taken down for cleaning if the front muzzle device is welded on?

                        Please help.

There are several pictures of the Whitney Wolverine with just a muzzle nut and with threads exposed. I'm assuming that Oly just copied it.

                            Follow this steps:

                            1)Move out of Cali.
                            2)Buy gun.
                            3)Move back to Cali.

You can get a barrel nut (keeps the whole thing together) without the muzzle device. That being said, the last time I checked the pistol was not on the DOJ list. I read somewhere Oly. would not spend the money to have the gun lab-tested for CA sales.
