Buy .22 in AZ While on Vacation

I'll be in AZ in the next couple of weeks visiting some friends. I haven't really found any definitive info on this, so I thought I'd post.

Can I buy a .22 while in AZ and bring it back with me to CA? What's the exact procedure for buying a rifle in another state?

    Thanks

you would need to have it sent to a CA FFL. you can not just buy and walk out the store in AZ with the gun.

As far as I know the answer is no, You have to be a resident in the state. I tried to buy a 10/22 in Walmart in Reno for 175 but couldnt.

Now this is the way I understand it:

Buying a gun in another state is just like ordering from say Buds, meaning all your doing is paying for the gun while your there. You'll probably just get a receipt showing you paid for the firearm and that it will be shipped to your FFL.

        1) you have to make sure that the firearm in question is on the CA DOJ list.
        2) Pay for the firearm + shipping to your FFL
        3) Once the firearm is received then you can start the DROS.
        4) 10 days later you get to pick up your new .22
