Help with Ruger Mark III hammer

I took out the hammer and connot figure in what order it goes back in. I have looked at several videos online but still am unable to figure it out. Can someone send a link to detailed picks or is anyone local in the North Hollywood area that can show me??

Call Ruger (928-778-6555) they can talk you through the reassembly. I do have one question why did you take out the hammer?

Are you just talking about a Volquartsen drop in sear or the entire kit (sear, lightened hammer, adjustable trigger and trigger bar pin & spring?)

As far as reassembly difficulties-- are you having problems with just the hammer itself or the hammer/hammer bushing/magazine disconnect lever & spring as an assembly? Hammer goes in with flat face forward towards the breech, mag disconnect & spring are on the right side. Flat tail of the mag disconnect spring goes down against the back side of the mag well behind the sear, hooked side goes over the top of the disconnect to hold it down on top of the sear without the magazine inserted.

I'm trying to find decent pictures on the internet to help you. I can completely strip and reassemble a Mark II or III with no difficulty but without having the gun in front of me it doesn't help you any.

They are tricky to completely strip and reassemble (more so the reassembly portion, taking it apart is easy)-- especially for a first timer if you don't study how all the springs are oriented before you took it apart and now you no longer can see how they used to fit.

Just found this... hopefully it will help you. Detailed pics of a Mark III with the magazine disconnect.

EDIT: Guess I should read more closely. I see you posted this:

Are you stuck on step 8 of the assembly?

If you have the kit installed and are trying to reassemble the pistol, you need to drop the hammer before installing the mainspring housing. This requires you insert a magazine (because of the magazine disconnect.)

                  1. Put the grip on the receiver and install the bolt.
                  2. Insert a magazine and pull the trigger.
                  3. Push the hammer fully upwards into the "fired" position and orient the pistol so gravity keeps it there.
                  4. Install the mainspring housing part way by pushing the large pin fully through the grip and receiver but leaving the "tail" of the housing swung outwards.
                  5. Swing the hammer strut down so it will engage the mainspring plunger as you rotate the mainspring housing into the lock position.
                  6. Lock the mainspring housing into the grip with the lock lever.

I think I finally figured out how to put it back together(hopefully).
