    Tacti-Pink 10/22

My daughter didn't want a HS class ring, so we bought her a Ruger 10/22 with a pink stock (it's in 10-day jail until 4/1).

I'm not sure if I should be seen shooting it or not.

It's sad but there are some people who feels the need to shoot big calibers to boost their ego. So there is that possibility that some insecure shooters might look at you funny, whether you're shooting a .22 or a .22 with pink stock.

The best way for your daughter to learn how to shoot is by watching you, as long as you guys are having fun with the rifle, who cares.

      Agreed.

I don't make fun of anyone with a gun.

        I've got a 10/22 ... It ain't pink though ...

People give me the looks when I start hitting their metal targets at 200+ yards.

Then come the handshakes for those who are descent enough to suck it up!
For the others, I couldn't care less ...

Tat being said, the fact that it's pink should not adversely affect the end result of making some new friends at the range and keeping the buggers at bay.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. ~ Heinlein

I think the opposite. Every time I go to Los Altos, on the 40 yard tin can range, there are always a couple of people with ARs that shoot at those gallon sized water jugs. WOW!!! Those guys can hit gallon sized water jugs 40 yards away with a caliber designed for 400 yards!!!

I just laugh as they miss their water jugs and hit my aluminum cans 5 yards to the left of their gallon jugs.

Haha! I just bought a 10/22 (out of jail on 3/30). Congrats on the purchase and the many good times that are coming your way!

No worries on shooting a .22, but you know what they say about guys who shoot pink guns!!!

Totally kidding of course...post some pics when it comes home. No doubt your daughter is stoked about her new rifle!

I like the pink AR. We haven't told her about the rifle yet (and she doesn't read this board). We'll just make a trip out to the New Balance outlet store and tell her we're stopping at BassPro first.

I'm looking forward to shooting it with her; she loves to shoot. I almost bought a second one for myself (less the pink stock), but decided to save for a Ruger MKIII handgun.

Haha, thats cool...I got my daughter for her sweet 16, A savage Model 93 BA .22 mag, but it was all black with a stainless bull barrel, with a (silver) Simmons scope. Nice shooting rifle.

+1 on the Ruger 10/22, can't go wrong there.

AND...sure, you go ahead and shoot it, no one will laugh at you because it has a pink stock, I promise!

THEN, the next step up for her is this baby!
