    Estimate for S&W MP-15 22 barrel threading

Looking to get my MP-15 22 barrel threaded. Want to get ideas on cost estimate. Local shop wants to charge $120 for 1/2 X 28 threading and crown job. Sounds a little high. Still waiting for a PM from AR15barrels.com

Here is what I posted couple months back after I had mine done:

This is a repost of an earlier post of mine on this topic.....

I sent mine to JPgrips on Straight Shooters recommendation. Got it back in a week. $49 includes return shipping. If you have to ship your entire upper like I did then it is another $24. http://www.jpgrips.com.

I sent him this DPMS Flash Hider ($5.69) and crush washer ($2.19) which he installed for me. He did a really great job.

    DPMS Flash Hider A2 1/2"-28 Thread Pre-Ban AR-15 Matte - MidwayUSA
DPMS Crush Washer AR-15 - MidwayUSA

    Here are the results:

Or you could just order one of these, don't know if you have seen these...not sure how well they work, but it may be an option for you. I may get this for mine before spending the dough on a GS, so once I buy it Sunday...and wait 10 more freaking days for it! Ugh...hate the wait I will see where I am at with it.

Scroll down to the bottom to check out what I am talking about, it says this:

Yes, I actually have that. But I want a more uniform look to the barrel like David's up there. The adaptor is little wider than the barrel. They sell their stuff on eBay too and got mine on there. Thanks for all the replies.

Just had my MP 15-22 barrel threaded with A1 flash suppressor installed by Randall of ar15barrels.com.

          Here's a closer look.

          And next to my GSG-5.

Add a Flash Hider or a Comp to your M&P 15-22. Larry at ProtoTech Inc, in Carmel, IN is going to begin tooling up to thread the barrel on the Smith & Wesson M&P 15/22 by the end of next week. He is curious as to how many here would be interested in getting this done. I know I am. Mine will be...

Send it to ar15barrels.com, Randall is a master craftsman. He took down, threaded, and re-assembled the rifle in less than 30 minutes. It took me longer to drive to his shop.
