    S&W 422 question

A Buddy of mine has one and is looking to sell it. I've checked them out a little online but want to see what owners thought of these little guys?? Any opinions or problems with this model are welcome.
    Thanks

Lightweight, accurate, feeds and shoots everything I've put to it. When I first bought it, it was mainly impulse and it was on sale. Definitely unconventional looking but there's method in the madness. The low bore axis makes for very good point-ability. Take down to clean is a little different but once you've done it, no problem. It uses the same magazine as the Model 41, so plenty available. I have the stainless/alloy with adjustable sights and wood grips. Mine was from the 90's so my magazines are 12rds, but now they're all 10rds.

If you want to put a red dot, Aimtech makes a grip replacement with a rail arm. It allows you to see the iron sights or red dot. It will make it considerably heavier.

I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

They are NOT as reliable as a Ruger Mark III hunter nor as accurate as a Buckmark
      I don't recommend, but that's only MO

Love mine. No telling how many rounds I have through it. Drilled and tapped it and put on red dot. It's not as accurate as the 41, but then again, it doesn't cost what a 41 does either.

Uses the same magazines as the 41 and is dead reliable as a result.

I own two, a 4" and a 6". They are lighter and thinner in the grip than the Ruger or Buck Mark (which I also own). Both are more reliable than the Ruger and about as accurate as a Buck Mark. The barrel sits very low in the frame, close to your hand. You won't regret having one.

Cool now if he'll just tell me what he wants for it I might be able to add it to my Ruger MKI, Colt Woodsman, and Walther P22 a happy little multi-generational family of 22's
