My friend bought me some .22 short on accident. Im assuming its a no go in the GSG. am i right?

no, it shouldn't do any damage. a .22lr chamber can safely fire .22long, .22short, .22CB, and .22BBs without damage, similar to how you can shoot .38special in a .357mag revolver.
It is just that the shorter .22 cartridges may not have enough power to cycle the bolt. That said, I wouldn't bother trying to use the .22shorts in that gun. I personally would use them in one of my revolvers or single-shot rifles. Not worth the hassle dealing with feeding issues and having to manually cycle the bolt. But if you wanted to try, go ahead and let us know, its possible that the GSG may run fine on .22shorts.Last edited by ke6guj; 03-06-2010, 6:11 PM.Jack
