Does anyone know how these .22's are?? I have read that they are pretty cool .22's. Can anyone verify? What about this versus the Walther P22? Thanks.

I had to break mine in, but it's working now and eats all kinds of 22. The sights are awkward and the grip angle feels a bit off as well. It's always in my range bag though so take that for what it's worth.

I have 3. They get so much negative reviews but I never had any odd problems with them. It's easy to lowball on them due to the bad rep. I pick em up used for $150-175.
They are very accurate.sigpic

+1 ,I have one i bought new in 1996 for $169.00 at Turners. It comes along every time i go to the range not sure how many rounds down range ,but it is a bunch ,and yes it is very accurate also a fast shooter .
If it ever take a dump for good ,ill get another for sure .Love that thing!"I will not buy ammo from the private ammo sellers,it only encourages them to keep buying ,and reselling the ammo they bought from WAL-MART at 2-3 times what they bought it for"!Comment

I like mine fine. Disassembly is an easy process, but as Jak1 mentioned, you can wind up chasing down a part that's flown off if you're not careful. Also, the plastic buffers do need to be replaced every so often (though to their credit, S&W didn't charged me when sending me a new one).
As far as accuracy goes, my 7" 22A does perfectly fine shooting paper 10 yards at the range, so I have no complaints there. My one complaint would be the sights. Not even a two dot, let alone three dot set of sights: just plain black target sights.Comment

I hear NOTHING but horror stories. I gave one for Christmas to a friend and the first time he took it to the range the sights came off the gun. avoid.Comment
