After my last range session with my Tactical Solutions .22LR M4 upper, I noticed that the hammer pin was starting to come out of both ends of a Superior Arms lower. It apparently snapped right in half, though I have no idea how long ago it happened. Total round count is probably in the ball park of 5000 - 7000 rounds of .22LR and 9mm. I've read about solutions for this problem and will be ordering the KNS pins pretty soon.
What is it about .22LR conversions/uppers that make the pins more prone to breakage than on 5.56/.223 uppers?
