    details/olive drab sig sauer 522

broke out the camera for some close ups & capture some of the upgrades to my new kit
    love sigs stock flash suppressor

gg&g a2 sight perfectly lines up w/the acog clone
like they were made for one another

did the 'crayon trick' to enhance safety/fire
also have a houge olive drab grip in route. will post when it get mounted

    comparison w/military olive drab

my rifle has enjoyed well over 1k rounds w/out many complaints

)))this weapon currently resides in oregon & have acquired the shorter 10 round clips to stay legal whenever in cali(((

no report regarding acog clone as it's yet to get sighted in & tested
optics are very clean & clear
only problem w/rifle has been ammo related & not the rifle's fault
the little e/c clip internally needs to be replaced w/something more robust
am guessing to keep the costs down on their swat that they'll use a polymer front rail/forearm vs. aluminum
& expect front sight to be non folding

Very nice rifle, really like the OD furniture. Where did you get the clone Acog?

i've been working on getting a front sight & have been torn between buying a mount for our stock & mounting up nearly anything a picatinny rail can take or just shelling out the big bucks & getting a flip up front that mounts like the sig sauer stock one. i really prefer the factory look, but will probably get a midwest industries or yhm flip front that mounts like factory
        we'll see........
but, whenever that happens i'll be sure to post up what i've done; as i'm confident others will be curious

These are great looking with dark earth furniture. I saw one at a gun show last weekend and was impressed. I like the ACOG clone.

It looks like your using a typical AR mount with that Acog. Something to be aware of is that the stock on this rifle places your head and eye lower than on an AR.

I'd would suggest using a low or medium height scope ring or a sight desgined specifically for this rifle.

I used a holographic sight that was for an AR and it sits too high for my eye to see if I want my cheep rested on the stock. I need to find a lower sight for this rifle.

That OD color looks really swell on sig522.

This is the reason I went with a low mount on my Vortex Strikefire on this rifle.

^^i like the height on yours better than the stock set up & might end up getting another lower mount

however, my rear sight is aligned dead center of the scope. isn't that where it's supposed to be?
as i haven't been out to actually 'fire' any rounds as yet
it's remained undetermined whether or not this set up w/yield the results i'm seeking

any direction towards a lower mount would be appreciated
i've seen them @ opticsplanet for a little over 60$, but if they're out there for less; don't hesitate to let me know

i've considered buying an aluminum rail & having it duracoated olive drab to match, but haven't decided if i want to invest that much $$$ in something that's primarily for appearances for this plinker

                  it's fun to have choices
