? on Airsoft Front Sight for Sig 522

I read over at Sigforum that below is an airsoft part. Any idea on what exactly it is?

My guess is it just came off of a random airsoft 556 clone.. why don't you ask the guy who posted it?

It appears to be a "Sig 556/551 Front Flip Sight Assembly". Typical price around $85

Don't assume everybody's a member. I was just browsing there.

Get the G&G SGR-556 full metal airsoft rifle. This rifle features a tightbore barrel, pre-installed MOSFET and ETU, and is wired to Deans for improved performance.

sig sauer licensed their 556 as an airsoft rifle
i haven't seen one in person yet, but have been told they are nearly identical to their bigger brothers

It's actually more like this one below. However, I can't find the front sight by itself. Any leads? Also, does anybody know if this flip up sight will work with any standard rear sight height-wise (e.g. MBUS)?

oh? wasn't posting pic for the sight, just to point out it's a licensed copy thus parts are likely interchangeable

that sight, you're posting, doesn't appeal to me as much as the hooded either

That's not an airsoft sight - the OP took it off his own Sig-556.

Here's the original thread/post from Sig Forum: Sig 522 front sight

                  Did someone say airsoft?

This belongs to a "person I know". Silly, airsoft is for 14 year olds.

Airsoft is super fun if you're out in the woods playing a scenario game with 40+ other people. Between scenario paintball and airsoft I'll take airsoft any day of the week.

Where else can you light up your buddy with a G36 and then go have a beer with him?

+1 on that... or practice in your garage in the winter when the weather is too lousy to go to the range!
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
