    SIG 522 MAGAZINES

Does anybody else have any issued with the BDM supplied mags with their 522 to be too tight? Mine had to be pushed in tightly and has to be pulled with serious effort to unload.

I actually utilized a dremmel tool to trim around the magazine body that fits into the magwell.

Anybody tried CMMG mags yet? Or a better solution than what I did.

Sig is currently updating the 522 which includes mag fitting. Many complaints have been received from why no sights, to mag fitting and Sig has addressed it. All new 522's will come with iron sights, swat rails, and the newer or modified magwell that properly fits the magazines. Apparently, its the magwell design not the magazine that's the problem. And the 522 will cost the same as it is currently priced. According to the Sig rep at the Shotshow, the price will remain the same and not increase as some party spoilers out there are mentioning. Personally, I prefer the non swat rails myself, but the iron sights would be great.

The two mags I have were a little tight. I took them apart and found some high points in the plastic where the two halves mate. I used a utility knife blade to shave the surfaces down flat and they go in/out easy now.

The mag my rifle came with works great no problems in fact it will drop right out. Now that being said I did buy a few more BDM's that are tight as all heck and will not release without a firm pull on them. There must be a variance in the mags themselves. These same mags work with no problems on my Spikes ST-22.

I have 6 BDM mags and all of them fit great and drop free. No problems for me.

The magazine that came with my rifle fits well and comes out easy. I've recently bought two 10 rounds BDM mags and they are very tight.
